![]() One of the major premises of chiropractic and health is that we understand there is a power that animates all living things as well as the innate ability of the body to function, self-regulate, and heal. Through hundreds of years of ongoing study of the anatomical body and its happenings, we learn more and more about how dynamic this relationship truly is.🔥 However, one overstep that seems to be trending in much of care today is looking locally, not globally at certain ailments or dysfunction. In other words, the neglect of tracing back something to its starting point or root cause rather than just addressing the area at hand. Let's take the knee for example, a common area that causes discomfort and pain.🧎 There are many things that could be happening when a knee is in distress: meniscus irritation, tears, degeneration, arthritis and more. However when we look at what the knee is and more so what attaches to it, we find that there could be an issue at the ankle, the foot, the hip, the low back, the ribs, the shoulder, the neck and so on.🤯 All the parts of the body are connected by muscles, ligaments, tendons, fascia and more. We are not simply Lego pieces that can be plucked apart. This is why when we address the global system first, and allow the entire body to be at ease, we can see changes throughout. From there, we can get more specific when things do not flush out, but by jumping to the area of complaint before addressing the system at large is a misstep in care. Kind of like putting on your shoes before your socks.🧦 And this goes for health at large. There are basic things that need to be done to be a resilient being: good foods, water, rest, movement and more.🪴 And with that template, the body is able to thrive and self-heal, and from there we can play with even further nourishing tactics to get the most out of our dynamic systems. And when that power is functioning at full force, it is incredible to see what changes can happen to not just how you feel, but your full expression of life. And you deserve it! |
